Web Updates
|

Hello all,
I thoght I`d try and test this website to see if it would update
... nothing has appeared on here for 4 days, so .. being the adventurous
type I thought I` d put pen to paper. Guess what? .. It doesn`t work.
(The pen to paper bit, that is).
All I got was a lot of vertical streaks down the monitor, I did try
felt tip, but that made even more mess trying to edit it. I thought
Biro would be a more stable medium too, but "tram lines" was all I had
left after using my rubber .. (eraser, not the birth control type)
Having bought another screen, I realise the futility of this
exercise. So, it`s back to the "0"`s and "1"`s for me. Lets see if this
effort makes it to the front page. Agh! .. nearly forgot ... update on
garden project ... the boys (63 and 38 years respectively) are here
today digging in the posts for the new fence. Gotta go now, I`m the
tea-boy today .. ta ta ...

I thought I had better confirm that your last "posting"
is "viewable" Bill, I must admit that I thought everyone had gone on
holiday for the week and left me to it.

Sorry guys, been a bit busy of late to sit down and
compose anything more than about three word rejoinderes on Facebook,
I've been engrossed in a project for work, putting together a 'roadshow'
with the purpose of explaining and demystifying the Traffic
Management Act and Parking regulations to the public. It's also an
opportunity to raise our profile with the public, and at the same time
get me a few days off from pounding the streets. On top of that I've got
to fit the slipway job into the schedule, involves a bit of juggling
with time but worthwhile, spent a couple of hours this evening chatting
to a local businessman who is the owner of a restored Torridge schooner,
the last one in existance, an ocean going 3 mast'er, trying to wangle a
trip on board, making progress but will be towards the end of summer if
at all.
Rock 'n Roll week next week, Thursday off to see Crowded House in
Plymouth, and Friday Wilko Johnson, ex Dr.Feelgood in Torrington, then
the Llama festival in Lynmouth, (Lynton and Lynmouth Arts and Music
festival), gonna be rocked out by the end of the weekend.

Hi all.
Just spent the last half hour or so catching up with all the happenings in my absence.
Looks like you are in for a busy week end Stu, or at least your ear drums are!
Hope you and Shirl have a lot of fun.
I was intrigued to hear about the three masted schooner and hope you manage to get a trip, what a bit of luck.
If you get the opportunity a couple of photos of the vessel would be very much appreciated.
I like your style Bill, decide to erect a fence and then get the heavy gang in to dig the holes whilst you make the tea.
Wish I'd been there to lend a hand, lets face it it's the only kind of erection I'm likely to achieve at my age! Ha Ha.
You were perfectly correct Ken I was gobsmacked by the article
about the car restoration you posted. I've taken the liberty of
transposing it on to our club newsletter with all the appropriate
credits of course, I hope you don't mind. Sorry about the delay but you
were perfectly correct I have just returned from Stoke on Trent. Burnley
is next week! In the mean time the management has informed me that we
should get the caravan out this week end for a day or two, so it looks
as though there won't be much time over the holiday either.
By the way, cracking photos of Weymouth House Graham, interesting to see how it was before it became the home of our school.
Got to go now.
Have fun.
Sticky.

Hi Guys,
Apologies for non attendance of late. We've had our front hedges
pulled out and walls built. So in between working 12hour days I've had
clearing up and and general lawn repairs to do. We're off to Corfu nexy
Monday so there's stuff to do before that !! I was going to wish you all
a good Bank Holiday but I see that the weather is "threatening"
Enjoy whatever you do !!

Hi Sticky et al, Back for another serve. Glad you liked the
car restoration article. I don't think anyone will mind you using
it for a club article for like minded car folk. Spent a day in
Sydney on the weekend helping my mate bring back his half of his
deceased parents estate including 10 removalist boxes full of
Corgi Toy Cars still in there individual boxes, plus 54 Jim
Beam collectables like trains and a Mustang car etc with the Jim Beam
still intact amongst a million other things. He now has a double
garage full of this stuff and he's a bit of a horder himself. Ken

Hi Ken.
Your mate sounds like a man after me own heart. I like the sound of his collectables.
The lads cleared out the garage the other day, it was a dream to be able to move about in there.
It didn't last long though, it's almost full again!
Mind you, there is a tractor in there now, my old 1953 Allis Chalmers B.
Son Alex has gone over to the dark side and recently acquired a
'Modern' tractor 100HP 4WD Massey Freguson with all the bells and
whistles, you don't drive it you play it!!!!!!!
Still prefer the International 574 myself.
Sorry getting carried away again.
Have fun.
Sticky.

Hi Sticky, Nice to hear from you. Glad that I can
somtimes add a little to this site. Have you ever
had a look at this site? http://www.australasianmotormuseums.com.au/
My brother-in-law whoe lives in Banwell Nth Somerset and has
in the last few years restored a VW Camper restored a MG, I think a
1939 GT model in the mid 1960's and this museum which was then
privately owned bought if off him through a third party and for a
song. Use to be able to see his car on this site not so sure now.
Cheers Ken

Yes .. it`s hell out here Tony .. like swimming in
treacle .. I have abandoned Internet Explorer as a browser now, have
gone over to Mozilla Firefox .. 6 times faster and no frozen pages
anymore. How many have we lost in the shake up? .. will peace return to
our site soon?. Do we get compensation for re-learning all that
was good and wholesome about Windows Live?.
Please sign below,
this petition will help restore our site .. ha ha !! as if!! .. guess
we`ll all have to push the brain cell / cells (delete as appropriate)
further than ever .. farewell all those without "techie skills" .. you
may find us again one day .. keep searching (and signing in all the
time), we`ll still be here .. Vive la Bath Tech .. glub, glub, glub ..
aaahhhhhh!!!!!
Dear Microsoft, Please provide me with a "roll back" facility for my Group. We are lost in the wilderness of binary.

Just noticed something else they have changed , your own
skydrive (not the groups, that is is still accessed from the left hand
menu) is no longer accessed from the "more" button above but you now
need to hover on the Windows live icon, top left, and the dropdown
menu appears.

I don't like it when they change things I get all confused, must be an age thing.
Just about getting over last weekend, hearings coming back, must
say Wilko Johnson played a blinder, it was like a couple of grandads had
escaped from the old folks home intent on having just one more blast.
Llama festival this weekend so hoping for fine weather, it's a nice
laid back weekend, not too many people, and more to the point, free.
After all how many people can you squeeze into the park at Lynmouth.
I published this first just to see if it printed my pic, it seems that only Bill and I are getting our pics onto the page.
