Have a nice trip Tony, hope the weather holds, it's been quite warm here for the past week, except for first thing in the morning so don't get up too early.

Hi lads.
I guess I've missed Anth, but just in case, have a good holiday and give the amber liquid a good talking to!
Trust things are going swimmingly down there on the slipway, Stu. Weather's getting better by the day, soon be time for the bikinis and wet suits you dream of!!!!! Won't tell Shirl, honest......
Just in case anyone is wondering. Last week end didn't go quite as planned.
We went for the dumper to find it in the middle of an undulating field, the engine was siezed, brakes siezed on and one flat tyre.
Al managed to unsieze the brakes with the dexterous use of a hammer and we managed to get to it and winch it on to the trailer.
Got home OK took it off the trailer and then it became a life and death challenge to get it unsiezed and running. Meantime the tyres were pumped up. (Battery starter pack with air pump Maplins £29 - 99) About three hours later it was started, I've never seen so much smoke from one small single cylinder diesel, the lashings of diesel and oil that got poured into the pot to unsieze it may have had something to do with it!!!!!!!!!!
All the capers with the dumper made it quite late so we decided to abandon the engine collection and go for the saw. Again not as simple as we expected. It was at the top of the bloke's very steep garden and it was necessary to descend a flight of steps and navigate some very restricted corners to get it out. He told us they dismantled it to get it in. We had to do the same to get it out!!!
Carried it physically to the trailer, dumped it in and took it home.
Sunday morning I spent a few hours assembling the engine and mounting it on the frames, meantime Al and Aaron were working on dumper still, fine tuning!!!!!! Sunday afternoon was a joint effort to try to get the saw engine to run, we had it firing a couple of times, but no run. Everyone agreed that has ignition problems, printed out the data sheets for the mag from the internet last night. Hopefully, we shall have time to have another go tomorrow, if the weather is nice.
In case anyone is in the slightest bit interested I will post a piccie of a similar saw working at a show in the US. It's in Odds and Ends.
Have fun.

" I saw e-saw sittin` on a c-saw Sir !",
My, you have been industrious John .. how does your good lady cope with all this metal in one place ? .. ha ha. I only have a small collection of minature machinery, (it`s all I am allowed to keep now) to kep me company on those long dark nights.

I`d love to see a few piccies of some of the goodies in action (or not, as the case may be).

Tony did not respond to the phone yesterday, so I guess Devon savouries are being consumed in quantity as we speak.

Myself and my good lady have been wearing away much skin and producing much saline solution on the forehead this last week, feverishly trying to make & fit doors and windows to our new "houses" in the back garden. Luckily we achieved it just in time for last nights and todays showers.

More B & Q moments today, and .. as a special treat .. a beef-burger in a bun at the snack bar in the store car park .. ah well, nice to see you all again .. be back soon, best regards.

Hi Bill.
Sounds as though you have been rather industrious as well, glad the summer house is coming along OK though.
Hope you enjoyed the burger in a bun, but watch out for that cholesterol , men of a certain age have to be careful, so I'm told!
Yep, I'll gather together some piccies of the old iron as soon as I have a spare minute and paste some on here.
At the moment the saw is not like the one in the photo as we only have the engine mounted on the frames, not much point in doing any more until we get it running. I have not been able to spend any more time on it since a week ago yesterday. I've been making new doors for the chicken houses this last week end. Not my choice really, but necessary and I guess it might earn some Brownie points from 'er indoors.
Getting late, have to go.
Best regards to both.

It's that time of year again isn't it fellas, things to do, but not much of searing interest. I'm working on a presentation for an exhibition at work, not very interesting unless you're interested in parking issues. Still very quiet on the slipway, and I'm doing my very best to bury my head to all the election issues, there's precious little humour there, unless you include Gordon Browns gaffs, caught him blindside I reckon !! As for election day itself we're off to Exeter to catch a band, Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express, not that you're likely to have heard of them. As you may have guessed I'm not in a particularly good mood this morning, got up at 6am. thinking I was working from 7 - 11, then found out I'm supposed to be 4pm - 8pm. it's a bugger innit!!!!!

Hi guys, we are back after our short holiday near Torbay/ Paignton on a campsite just off the A380, after five days of sunny weather where we were able to get on the bike and tour around the surrounding towns it decided to pour down and with no other means of getting around than our scooter we decided to call it a day and return early.
We had a nice return trip on the Paignton/Dartmouth steam railway and all in all the weather was great for the time of year, nearly thought of calling in to see you Stu on the return trip home but thought better of it as the weather was pretty miserable , maybe next time we are down that way and on the north coast rather than the south, hope everyone is keeping well.

Hello all,
Talking of North Devon, (as was Tony & Stu) ... my grand-daughters, parents, and grand-parents nanna & faji (don`t ask !) .. are sunning themselves at Damage Barton Caravan Club site near Woolacombe. The latest escapade in their adventure took place this morning .. the scene ... everyone outside milling around merrily, and a good time (generally,) was being had by all.

Scene 2, Nanna (aka Angela) decided to join in the merriment outside, forgetting herself in the joy of the moment she shut the motor home side door. Nothing unusual in that, but the auto lock is on .. result .. lock out ... all keys inside. Luckily side locker door is open.

Scene 2, empty locker contents, inject two small grand chilren into locker space. Whilke one holds up fixed double bed other clambers into bedroom ... rescues keys .. opens door.

Scene 3, happiness restored .. grand children get treats a`plenty .. Nannas face slowly chnages from red to pink again.

See, there`s always a stroy to tell about camping .. I` m still waiting to get finished with my odd jobs, then we`re off ... keep a look out Stu for a two-tone blue split sscreen V.W. Stu, if you see it ... hide ... catch you later guys.

Hi Guys.
Don't bother with the ticket Stu, anyone sad enough to drive a VW splittie has got enough trouble without your efforts as well!!!!
Take pity on the man.
Seriously though, glad you had a nice break down in dear ol' Debn Anth, but sorry to hear that the weather turned foul on you at the end. Still, good excuse to do it again soon. It's a  nice trip down to Kingswear on the train isn't it? The train was hauled by one of the Manors the last time I was down there, many many moons ago. For the life of me I can't remember which one.
Liked the story about threading the kids in through the locker to unlock the camper, Bill. See, Grand Kids do have their uses.
Reminds me of a clip that was published on U Tube not long ago. It was in the US at a Mall supermarket. In the entrance was a candy vending machine. A generously proportioned woman with a couple of little girls passed by. The girls stopped and the smallest one promptly proceeded to enter the machine via the delivery chute. Next you know she's inside pressed against the glass front like one of those cats that people stick to the inside of car windows. The other sister goes to fetch 'Mummy' to demonstrate the dilemma, what ensues were all the antics of everyone trying to get the kid out. Great fun!
Got to go now.
Have fun all.
Sticky.
