Hi All.
Funny, isn't it how lads of a certain age have a fascination with things that go bang!
We were no different, but fairly limited in our experimentation, it
doesn't sound as though it was nearly as prevalent as it was in later
years. All good clean fun though, bloody dangerous fun, but fun.
I can't remember all the machines in Harry Mower's shop, but you
were quite correct, Bill. There was also a couple of smaller Boxford
lathes, I don't tremember seeing a mill though, bit strange, that.
As I mentioned before we were casting a concrete floor in the
tractor shed, last week end. The object of the operation was to generate
enough space to install some of our machinery. Colchester student,
slightly smaller Harrison and a pre war small (About five inch centre
height) Leinen and Boley. Besides the lathes we have two Bridgport mills
and a small home assembled machine which may or may not be Dore
Westbury. See the problem we had trying to make room for it all?
As for computermabobs I'm afraid the ability (and equipment) is
severely limited, sometimes when you guys get fired up I become
completely befuddled and have to go and lie down in a darkened room!
Gotta go now.
Have fun.
Sticky.
