Hi Stu, I am some what confused when you say you are back on the slipway, are you back to your old job, watching all the young totty getting changed into their wetsuits, or is this a new base for wardens.

No Tony, I'm doing both, I only do the CEO job for 27 hours a week, and the slipway warden for 6 months at 14 hours a week, I wanted to keep the slipway job going 'cos it's a doddle and free fish, actually it helps to pay for expensive exotic holidays.

PS Hopefully we''ll get a really hot summer and the totty'll be out in droves, he he he!!!!!

Hi Anth, Stu and all.
Nothing wrong with a bit of free enterprise Anth.
I expect you saw it reported in the media recently about the car park attendant on the Downs outside Bristol Zoo. Just in case you didn't here's what happened.
The old guy had been the attendant for years, he had a hut on the site, wore a white coat and black cap, complete with money bag and ticket machine. He charged a pound for cars and a fiver for coaches and come rain or shine he was always at work, never missed a day, until recently. Suddenly without warning he did not turn up for a couple of days. Eventually the Zoo phoned the council to tell them that he had not turned up, they said he's not one of ours, we thought he was one of yours. No one has seen him since!
The council calculated that over the period of time he had probably collected several million pounds and all tax free!
That's what I call free enterprise!!!!!!!!
Keep your eyes open in Spain for a bloke in a white coat and black cap.....................
Have fun.

I heard about that last year John, talk about free enterprise, what Arthur Daley would have called a nice little earner. Me I stand in awe of the man I wouldn't have had the bottle to do it, and it's one of those jobs where no one really remembers your face.

I've already had loads of suggestions for commercial enterprise for the hut Tony, unfortunately no gas or electric, and too much competition from established locals, anyway might endanger my discount at the chip shop, I'm just hoping for a hot and sunny summer, bikinis, wet suits, now if can only get the outside shower working....................................................

I remember when we first had a holiday in Malta with our friends and their family. well over thirty years ago now, we visited a fair few historical places and parked the car on the alotted piece of waste ground nearby.
A parking attendant always sauntered up to us with the brown coat and money bag over his shoulder to collect payment, I asked my friend how much it was and he said, as much as you value your car, their not official and the government just allow it as long as they stop anyone thieving and keep the area tidy.
How about this weather then. no wind yesterday and almost good enough to sit and sunbath!!
The Bristol Zoo story is a bit of an urban myth John but I,m sure it does go on somewhere

Hi Anth.
Thanks for the info on the Urban myth, shame really, but I still like the story.
I reckon that Stu's got to be able to make a bob or two somehow, there must be an opportunity there somewhere.
Have fun all.

Sorry about that John, I must admit that its a cracking story and I am sure that there are plenty of scams that are as good if not better, in fact if they were that good nobody would find out about them.
