Confused and bordering on the irrational.

Hi all.
There is so much happening on the site at the moment that I am having a great deal of difficulty in keeping up with it all. I am very concerned in case there is some monumental mind blowing piece of information that I may miss in all the confusion, or is it all the wanderings of senility.
What's happening in the custard saga? Last I heard was that answers shopuld be written on a jug of custard and sent to..........
What about the buses and where have all the canals gone?
What about the S and D?
Now we have so many new recruits perhaps we can start something new, or was it the custard that attracted them all?
Good result anyway.
Have to go and rest the brain now, so, what did I do with that bottle?
Bi to all.
John.

Hello John, ... did  I hear the word insanity mentioned .or was it a figment .. perchance a fleeting moment of .. imagination?

The Custard incident .. it never happened .. you never heard it on here .. there will no doubt be an enquiry into how it slipped past the site censor ..

I do love all this mystery and intrigue, it sort of goes with my "buttlerfly mind" mentality .. the wierder the better ... as for all this talk of food consumed at Brougham Hayes .. I have only a few comments "Shepherds Pie", "Egg Custard" (with sugary syrup) .. "Toad in the Hole" (with the gravy) ... there .. all done now .. full up.

 Regards.

"The Custard Incident", now there's a good name for a thriller, your the writer get on then case then Bill, Rich could probably give you some feeds, (feeds, geddit), what with his talk of "purple" custard, I don't remember purple, pink and insipid yellow, but never purple, other than that school food was pretty good, even the lumpy rice pudding.

I don't remember school dinners much apart from the dinner table water jug be 'doctored' with salt.
I seem to recall spending my dinner money on sweets & fags; no wonder I was ravenous when I got home.

I think the purple custard is a wind up.  How come you guys have such a good recollection of 45+ years ago; how come you aren't all senile like me

Hi all.
Your memory probably something to do with all the sweets and fags Chris. Just think, if you'd eaten all that wholesome? food that was on offer, described by all, you could have been overweight as well, just like us!
Keep up the good work lads, still smiling at the culinary delights.
Bi for now.
John.

A Shrew for Stu...
The Owl, safe on its perch in Carrs Wood...A glint, no; a sparkle, within its eye. Thoughts of safety all gone, it swooped low over the Railway line to cross the road and then the river. The shrill scream from the shrew .. muffled by the beat of the wings faded from the river bank. Its own cry to its mate was misunderstood by the Owl .. it thought it was saying "don`t eat me, I have young of my own to feed". A few more beats of the heart and it was over, the parcels of shrew were dispatched into hungry young mouths, and the search for more was resumed by the Owl.
Sunlight broke over the Hampton Rocks, spilled over Bathwick searching for the Square. The dew of the cold night hung on the tree in Kingsmead; a few discarded chip wrappers offered no morsels to the Pigeon. The Rats of the city had had their fill the previous night. A few beats more and the bird was aloft, heading toward the Supermarket at Green Park. There would be easy pickings as soon as the waste bins were filled with the cast-offs from the humans.
"Perhaps some grain, rice or barley", these fanciful thoughts flashed before its eyes. A fleeting and brief escape, but it dawned on the bird that 21st century Bath had none of these to offer it. Just stale bread and leftovers. Oh well, another normal day then.
Territorial, the Robin took over where the Pigeon had deserted the square. Calm, forthright, it stood its ground as the stall holders prepared their pitches for the coming day. Boldness would be rewarded with scraps and tasty morsels. Soon the bustle of the city was all around, another dawn was breaking and some thin but warming sunlight was making life more bearable. The Robin looked around for something sweet to wash down its meal. So, what do you give a Robin that`s looking for dessert?  .. Why; "Birds Custard" of course...!!!!

Hi all.
Superb prose, Bill, could almost be attributable to the bard. Initially I wondered where it was going, but all became clear in the end!
I guess we should add literary genius to your many other talents.
Much better than all this confusing stuff about computermabobs (See compare the meerkats.com)
Surprising the things the old grey matter gets up to at our age innit.
Have fun.

Hi Guys
I have taken the liberty of starting a new album in photos. I have pasted in some of the piccies from the Black Country Living Museum, as promised. I would have done more but the computer decided to go off with the fairies and I fell asleep whilst waiting for it to recover! All OK now but must go to beddybies, will paste more as soon as I can find the time.
 Bi for now.

PS incidentally, I saw 'Tornado' go up the valley on Saturday, very inpressive, tell more later.

Hello John and all,
The photos are very good, and always welocome about any subject .. we have not even scratched the surface for the storage allowance for our Group. ( have a look at "Skydrive", see whats used..a few percent).

I thought Id better say John, the writing comes from on "over active" imagination, and a prlonged period of forced reflection in my youth. I may grow out of it one day .. we`ll have to see  ..Ha Ha.

Hi all.
Keep up the prose, Bill, we have to have at least a hint of sophistication in these hallowed pages.
Nice maps of Midford area, Bill, very useful.
Very nice photos from Anth of Beamish, I'm told that The Black Country Museum was inspired by what they were doing there.
Also nice ones from David, particularly liked the L and B loco, very sweet.
Bi for now.
